The Bangkok Underground (MRT)
Getting around central Bangkok can be a frustrating exercise. The streets of Bangkok are heavilly congested and to drive anywhere is time consuming, and adds to the pollution that the people of Bangkok have to endure. Recently opened is the Bangkok Underground, or MRT. It is a very efficient and modern way to get around parts of Bangkok not covered by the Skytrain. Trains are frequent, air conditioned and clean. Not like in some cities I could mention. You can transfer from the MRT to the Skytrain at three stations, making travel around Bangkok easy. Many more stations are planned. The stations are are conditioned, and are looked after really well. It is a pleasure to use the service. So to move around Bangkok, whilst avoiding the congested streets, use the MRT ! |
